After 10 years of architectural practice on local and international projects, Jack qualified in Applied Finance and Investment and Land Economics. He led property projects hands-on since 1995, through conception, development and then through delivery. Jack has worked both client side and developer side including 5 years with MAB to 2001 in Melbourne, founding Erison, a consulting and advisory partnership firm that undertook a variety of project commissions till 2015 and then forming Haber Associates which has consulted to State Government agencies and private equity clients across a broad mix of project typologies.
Jack is a seasoned development leader with sharply-honed business acumen, strong economic and financial analytical and feasibility skills and extensive project experience. A strategic thinker, he brings a passion for project entrepreneurship and innovative solutions.
He focuses on ensuring that design delivers on the client brief and user expectations and the translation of design intent through to successful delivery. Jack’s focus and skills in managing design teams is key in his many achievements of functional, beautiful and fully resolved results for his clients. He understands the nexus between site selection, design and yield, to optimise commercial potential and importantly, to create places that people can enjoy.
Across many heritage projects, Jack understands the requirements and constraints of restoration and adaptive reuse projects and the particular demands of Aboriginal heritage.
Jack is passionate about sustainable design and new, innovative methods of construction. He is particularly well versed in timber and prefabricated construction and has published multiple articles and spoken widely at conferences on these subjects.
He has worked with large and small builders, acting as project manager and superintendent on many projects. His proven ability to find innovative solutions to problems, and work cooperatively with team members to unearth winning solutions has been amply demonstrated to maintain project momentum and reach desired outcomes.
